The Lavender Balm combines grass-fed tallow with calming lavender oil for a more soothing skincare ritual. Developed for skin exposed to weather, work and frequent washing.
Developed where skin faces the elements. Proven through real use.
At Hayes Meadow our skincare is shaped by practical use and real exposure. Our balms are developed for skin facing everyday stress — weather, frequent washing, outdoor work and dry environments.
Core benefits
• Deep hydration
• Supports skin barrier function
• Compatible with skin lipids
• Helps improve skin resilience
• Suitable for adults and children
Why it works
Grass‑fed tallow contains fatty acids similar to those naturally present in healthy skin. These lipids help support hydration, strengthen the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss.
Rose hip oil is naturally high in linoleic acid and lower in oleic acid, helping balance the rich protective nature of tallow. This improves absorption while supporting skin comfort and clarity.
Together these ingredients create a lipid structure comparable to the skin’s natural barrier fats such as ceramides and protective lipids.
Beeswax helps seal hydration while allowing the skin to breathe.
Day performance
Provides daily hydration and barrier support for dry or exposed skin.
Suitable for:
Daily face and body care
Hands exposed to washing or outdoor work
Dry or sensitive skin
Areas needing extra protection
Night performance
Used as the final step in your evening routine, this balm helps seal hydration and support overnight skin recovery.
Because of its protective lipid structure it works well as a nourishing night balm helping:
Reduce overnight moisture loss
Support skin barrier repair
Protect from environmental stress
Lock in previous skincare steps
Apply after serums or lighter moisturisers to help seal in active ingredients.
Ingredients
Organic Tallow
Rose Hip Oil (Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil)
(Fragrance ingredients listed per scent)
Quality
Our tallow is carefully purified so despite containing a high percentage of tallow the balm does not smell of beef.
Rosehip oil helps carry the tallow into the skin improving absorption and reducing surface heaviness.
Free from:
Paraffin
Sulphates
Parabens
Phthalates
Mineral oils
Synthetic preservatives
Use
Apply a small amount and massage into skin until absorbed. A little goes a long way.
Storage
Because we use no stabilisers or emulsifiers, texture may vary with temperature. This is normal for natural formulations and does not affect performance.
Store between 13–25°C where possible.

Compared to others I’ve tried this is the most organic. Feels like it’s doing wonders to my skin. Great product. TY.

Your tallow products are the only ones my skin likes. They absorb well and feel good. Warm it up with rubbing a tiny ball between the palms and then pat on skin after spritzing skin with rosewater.

Extremely moisturizing but doesn’t leave your fingers greasy.

10/10 – so good

It smells delightful and will nourish the skin better than some more artificial products but is a little stiff and therefore takes a while to apply.
Graham Macklin (store manager) –
thank you Hilary, To soften the product, best to store in a warmer spot. None of our products contain any stabilisers, emulsifiers, or preservatives, so this means that the consistency will vary with temperature changes after dispatch. It will melt if too warm and over harden if too cold. Also, it will react to temperature fluctuations such as cold nights/warm days.
Certain fatty acids (like stearic or palmitic) can occasionally form fat crystals because of fluctuations of heating and cooling after transit. It’s naturally occurring, and this should melt out in the palm of your hand before application and won’t detract from the moisturising benefits.
This should also go away if you store the product in a warmer spot for a day to soften the exposed surface.
We also recommend storing the pots at room temperature 13-25 degrees. Oils separate with gravity, naturally over time. So, if you are not actively using a pot – please store upside down.
