Pigs need a varied seasonal diet to be at their best. Far too many conventional and indeed organic pigs are reared on composite, processed pellets. We stand against this and our hand selected pork is chosen from local farmer friends in Devon who are also certified by ‘A Greener Word’
All our pigs free range in pasture and woodland during the Spring and Summer. In the Autumn their range is restricted to protect the pastures and soil. They are then fed on a diet of root crops, such as Sugar Beet and Swede. Also hay and apples and apple pulp from the local cider farm.
We hand select older pigs for their depth of flavour and fat content. We make no apologies for the fat content of our pork. This is how it should be and our health benefits from this quality of Pork.
