At Hayes Meadow, everything we make begins with one ingredient we fully control — our grass-fed tallow.
We raise our cattle and render the tallow on our farm, then carefully formulate it into simple, effective skincare.
It’s the same land, the same animals, and the same process — just applied in a different way.
This is not about trends or marketing claims.
It’s about understanding what works — and why.
Where It Starts: Our Farm
Our cattle are raised on our certified organic, 100% grass-fed farm in Devon.
They graze species-rich pastures, managed through regenerative practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity and animal welfare. We don’t use grain, unnecessary inputs or intensive systems — just a slower, more natural approach to farming.
This matters because the quality of the tallow begins here.
Healthy soil supports healthy pasture.
Healthy pasture supports healthy animals.
And that results in a nutrient-dense, high-quality fat — the foundation of everything we make.
Our Tallow Skincare is is Organic & Sustainable. Handmade at Hayes Meadow Farm in England. We are Independently Certified: Organic, High Welfare, 100% Grass Fed & Finished, Non-GMO & Regenerative.
Rendering: Preserving What Matters
We render our tallow ourselves on the farm. This isn’t industrial processing. We use a controlled, careful method designed to preserve the natural fatty acid profile rather than strip it away.
We don’t bleach, deodorise aggressively, or chemically refine.
The result is a clean, stable fat that retains its natural compatibility with the skin — rich in the same types of lipids your skin already recognises. This is what gives tallow its unique effectiveness.
Formulation: Built Around Tallow
Tallow is the foundation — but formulation is what makes a product work. We build each formulation around our tallow, then add only what improves how it performs on the skin.
Each component must:
- serve a clear purpose
- support the skin’s natural function
- complement the properties of the tallow
For example, we use rosehip oil not as a filler, but because it helps carry tallow deeper into the skin while adding its own vitamin-rich profile. The result is balanced, functional skincare — not overloaded, not diluted.
Why We Keep It Simple
Most skincare has become unnecessarily complicated. Long ingredient lists, unnecessary actives, and products layered on top of each other. We take a different approach.
Our formulations are designed to:
- support the skin barrier
- reduce moisture loss
- provide lasting hydration
- protect against everyday environmental stress
Nothing unnecessary. Nothing excessive. Just what the skin needs to function well.
Made For Real Life
Our products aren’t developed in controlled lab conditions alone. They are used and tested in real environments — on the farm, outdoors, in cold weather, wind, and everyday exposure.
This matters.
Because skincare shouldn’t just perform in theory — it should work when skin is actually under stress.
Dry hands. Weather exposure. Daily wear.
That’s the standard we formulate to.

What We Control — And Why It Matters
We don’t claim to produce every ingredient ourselves. What we do control is the most important one — our tallow.
By raising the animals, rendering the fat, and formulating the final product ourselves, we maintain complete oversight of the core of every formulation. Everything else is selected with the same care. Every ingredient must earn its place.
A More Honest Approach To Skincare
At Hayes Meadow, we’re not trying to reinvent skincare. We’re returning to something simpler — using nutrient-dense, traditional ingredients and applying them with modern understanding.
No unnecessary complexity.
No inflated claims.
No shortcuts.
Just effective skincare, built from the ground up.
In Summary
From soil to skin, our process is built on control, simplicity and function.
We raise the animals.
We render the tallow.
We formulate the products.
And we do it with one goal — to create skincare that works because it must.
